IgA Nephropathy: Cause, Pathology, Classification

IgA Nephropathy is an immune-complex-medicated glomerulonephritis defined by the presence of IgA deposits in the mesangial area of the kidney.
The onset of IgA Nephropathy can be associated with the upper respiratory tract infection, and the disease may occur due to the hyperactivity of the mucosal immune system. If you need the overview list of IgA Nephropathy, please email to kidneyask@hotmail.com or consult free online service!
What are the Causes of IgA Nephropathy?
1. Infection and Inflammatory reaction
The attack of IgA Nephropathy is often followed by an infection, especially infection of the upper respiratory tract.
2. Genetic predisposition
Some patients show familial aggregation of the disease, which indicated that IgA Nephropathy may inherit.
3. IgA deposition in the mesangial area
Deposition of IgA Nephropathy and other immune complexes in the mesangial area destroy the normal structure of certain renal intrinsic cells, thus causing kidney damage. If you need the detailed cause of IgA Nephropathy, please email to kidneyask@hotmail.com or consult the free online service.
What is the Pathology of IgA Nephropathy?
When you get an infection, antigens (a virus, bacteria, or toxin) can easily invade into your body, the body produce more antibodies, which are immunoglobulins produced by the immune system, to fight against these invaders.
However, antibodies fail to fight off these antigens, but lock onto the surfaces of foreign substances, forming antigen-antibody aggregates known as immune complexes. These deposits don't belong to our body, so the body will try to eliminate them. The immune complexes are too stubborn to be cleared away, so the inflammatory response will become more and more tense, eventually resulting in hypersensitivity. The renal intrinsic cells and tissues will be impaired if the hypersensitivity is out of control. Symptoms will occur over time.
What is the Lee Classification of IgA Nephropathy?
IgA nephropathy can be divided into 5 stages according to the severity of mesangial proliferation, cresent and tubulointerstitium changes.
Level I: Most glomeruli are normal; occasional moderate mesangial broadening with or without cell proliferation; the tubulointerstitium is normal.
Level II: Focal glomerular proliferation and sclerosis(50%), cresent is rarely seen; the tubulointerstitium is normal.
Level III: Diffuse glomerular filtration; more cresents; interstitial edema, cell infiltration is occasionally seen and tubular atrophy is rare.
Level IV: Severe diffuse mesangial proliferation with focal or total glomerular sclerosis; cresents (<45%); tubular atrophy, interstitial infiltration and interstitial foam cells can be occasionally seen.

Level V: cresents is more than 45%, the tubulointerstitium changes are similar with level VI, but more serious.

Common Treatment for Kidney Stones

For many patients with kidney stones, if the kidney stones are very small, they don’t have any discomfort feelings. But if the kidney stones are very big, sometimes the pain is very severe, so many patients can’t bear this kinds of pain, so they want to adopt surgery to remove the kidney stones.Good news is that some herbs help dissovle and remove the Kidney Stones naturally. If you have interest in the herbs list, please email to kidneyask@hotmail.com or you can consult our free online service directly.
Learn More: Can Complex Kidney Cyst Become Cancer
A study published in 2006 showed that patients who undergo ESWL(Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy) are more likely to develop hypertension and Diabetes than patients who have not. Some stones are very hard and are not affected by the shock waves. If ESWL is not successful or if the doctor does not suggest it, other procedures can be performed to take the stones out.
The physician can go through the urethra and bladder, and into the ureter using a scope. He or she can then find the stone and take it out. This is known as ureteroscopic stone removal and is usually an outpatient procedure, that is the patient goes home the same day after the procedure.
Sometimes the stone is too big to remove and is therefore broken into smaller pieces, using either a mechanical instrument or a small laser introduced through the urethra into the bladder then into the ureter.
If ureteroscopic stone removal is not possible, the kidney itself can be opened up surgically through the flank to take the stones out. This is an inpatient operation, which means the patient may have to stay in the hospital after the procedure.
Kidney Stones can be very painful. Fortunately, they are treatable and preventable. Treatment options include medication, shock wave therapy, endoscopy, and surgery.

Some simple changes in diet may decrease a patient’s chance of developing kidney stones.

Horseshoe Kidney: Cause, Symptoms, Diagnosis

What is Horseshoe Kidney?
Horseshoe Kidney is a "U" shape kidney. The kidney of fetus rise from the pelvic area and fuse together at the lower end. Horseshoe Kidney occurs at the time of fetal development. About 1/500 babies may have the disease. Seeing from the whole, more males have the disease.Any help, please consult our free online service or email to kidneyask@hotmail.com
What are the causes of Horseshoe Kidney?
1. Horseshoe Kidney is formed during organogenesis, when the inferior poles of these early kidneys touch, fusing in the lower midline.
2. Horseshoe Kidney is caused by the abnormal migration of posterior nephrogenic cells, which then coalesce to form the isthmus.
Learn About: Will Horseshoe Kidney Have Affect on Pregnancy
What are the Symptoms of Horseshoe Kidney?
According to our researches, about 30% patients have no symptoms.
1.UTI.
Urinary Tract Infection is a common symptom of Horseshoe Kidney. In severe case, the infection can spread to kidneys to cause kidney damage. When UTI occurs, the patients can experience high fever and chill.
2. Kidney Stone.
Horseshoe Kidney may lead to kidney stone which may cause urinary obstruction and hematuria, fever, chills, cloudy urine and nausea.
3. Cancerous Tumors.
Patients with Horseshoe Kidneys more easily to have cancerous tumors than normal people.
4. Hydronephrosis.
Hydronephrosis occurs as a result of urinary obstruction.
What are the Diagnosis of Horseshoe Kidney?
1. Ultrasound Test.
If you are suspected to have Horseshoe Kidney, a renal ultrasound is usually ordered to view organs.
Children sufferers have a similar clinical symptoms with adults. And they are mainly presented with Nephrotic Syndrome. The morbidity rate for high blood pressure and renal insufficiency in children is lower than in adults. Most of FSGS(40-60%) progress with presentations of chronic feature and it may progress to kidney failure at last. Some minority patients(10-15%) progress quickly so patients could show renal failure at an early time.
2. Blood Test.

3. Urine Test.

ESRD: Tests, Prevention, Treatment,Symptoms

How is ESRD different from chronic kidney disease (CKD)?
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is when there is permanent damage to your kidneys. Your kidneys may still work well enough for you to live, even if they have some damage.Any personal help, please consult our free online service directly. or Email to kidneyask@hotmail.com
If your kidneys keep getting worse, CKD can lead to kidney failure (ESRD). This is when the kidneys do not work well enough for you to live. If this happens, you will need dialysis or a kidney transplant to live.
Learn About: Life Expectancy of People with End Stage Renal Disease without Dialysis
What are the tests for ESRD?
You may not know that you have a kidney problem until it is very far along. The only way to know how your kidneys are working is to have some simple medical tests. Ask your doctor about these tests:
Blood pressure check
Urine test
Blood test for kidney function
How can I prevent ESRD?
The best way to prevent ESRD is to prevent CKD. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the two leading causes of CKD. You can help to protect your kidneys by keeping these in control. Get your blood sugar and blood pressure checked often.
You also help protect your kidneys with other healthy habits. You should:
Have regular check-ups with your doctor
Eat a low-fat, low-salt diet
Exercise most days of the week
Avoid tobacco
Drink alcohol only in moderation
Also, take medicines the way your doctor tells you. Talk to your doctor before you start any new medicine or supplement.
How is ESRD treated?
The main job of the kidneys is to clean wastes and extra fluid from your blood. If your kidneys fail, you will need dialysis or a kidney transplant to live. These are treatments to help replace the job of the kidneys.

For some patients, as long as they don’t have uncontrolled hypertension, don’t have uncontrolled Renal Anemia, the kidneys have not shrink to 4cm, all these means the kidneys still working, so they still have the chance to enhance the kidney function. Maybe in Western Medicine, there is only dialysis or kidney transplant can help patients with ESRD. But in Chinese Medicine, there are some useful treatment can help the patients to expand the blood vessels, take more nutrition substance to kidneys, and repair the damaged kidneys gradually.

Amyloid Nephropathy: Cause, Treatment, Symptoms

What is Amyloid Nephropathy?
Amyloid Nephropathy is characterized by numerous amyloid fibers depositing on the renal tissues. primary disease-amyloidosis. The amyloid fiber is a glass-like thing and includes amyloid protein, amyloid protein A, prealbumin, etc. amyloid fiber can be are the main cells that can be produced and decomposed by Macrophages.
What are Causes of Amyloid Nephropathy?
1. Complications.
Neoplastic disease, infectious disease and immunological disease are the main cause of Amyloid Nephropathy. About three quaters secondary amyloidosis may progress to Amyloid Nephropathy and the others are Amyloid Nephropathy.
2. Immune system.
In the condition of immune dysfunction, proteins are not able to be resolved as normal but collect in the tissues, forming amyloid fiber which is regarded as foreign invaders. Then inflammation will occur and kidney cells will be damaged, after some time, patients may have symptoms.
What are the Symptoms of Amyloid Nephropathy?
If the disease can not be treated well, Amyloid Nephropathy can aggravate into Kidney Failure at last. Hence, it is better for patents know the symptoms well.
1. Protein urine.
2. Swelling (edema) of the eyelids, the lower limbs and the whole body
3. Big tongue (amyloid macroglossia)
4. High blood pressure.
5. Hypoalbuminemia and hyperlipidaemia
6. Blood urine.
7. Pain in the abdomen, loin and back pain

8. Fatigue and some patients may have nausea.

Alport Syndrome: Symptoms, Diagnosis, Facts, Treatment

What is called Alport Syndrome?
Alport syndrome or hereditary nephritis is a genetic disorder characterized by glomerulonephritis, end stage kidney disease, and hearing loss. Alport syndrome can also affect the eyes (lenticonus). The presence of blood in the urine (hematuria) is almost always found in this condition.
What are the symptoms of Alport Syndrome?
Alport Syndrome always affects the kidneys. Many people with Alport Syndrome also have hearing problems and abnormalities of the eyes, because the type IV collagen proteins are important to the normal structure and function of the inner ear and the eye.
Kidneys: The central feature of the disease is the presence of blood in the urine (hematuria). Boys with X-linked Alport Syndrome develop hematuria in infancy, and it is always present. The great majority of girls with X-linked Alport Syndrome also have hematuria, but it may come and go The hematuria of Alport Syndrome is usually microscopic, meaning it can only be detected with a microscope or a urine dipstick. Sometimes children with Alport Syndrome have brown, pink or red urine ( gross hematuria) for several days, brought on by a cold or the flu. This gross hematuria will go away on its own and while it may be frightening, it is not harmful.
As boys with Alport Syndrome grow, they begin to show other signs of kidney disease, including protein in the urine and high blood pressure. These symptoms are often present by the time the boys are teen-agers. Girls with Alport Syndrome usually do not have protein in the urine and high blood pressure until much later in life, but occasionally these symptoms appear in teen-aged girls with Alport Syndrome.
Ears:Deafness is another important feature of Alport Syndrome. About 80% of boys with Alport Syndrome will develop deafness at some point in their lives, often by the time they are teen-agers. The deafness affects both ears. Fortunately, hearing aids are usually very effective in these people. Girls with Alport Syndrome may also develop deafness, but less frequently than boys, and usually later in life. Kidney transplantation does not improve the deafness of Alport Syndrome.
Eyes:About 15% of men with Alport Syndrome have an abnormality in the shape of the lens called anterior lenticonus. People with anterior lenticonus may have some problems with their vision, and may develop cataracts.
How is Alport Syndrome diagnosed?
Currently, diagnosis of Alport Syndrome relies on careful evaluation of the patient's clinical features, family history and results of tissue biopsies. Alport Syndrome produces unique changes in the walls of the blood vessels of the glomeruli that can be detected by electron microscopy of kidney biopsy material. Kidney biopsies can also be tested for the presence or absence of the type IV collagen alpha-3, alpha-4 and alpha-5 chains. This information is often very helpful in confirming a suspected diagnosis of Alport Syndrome. An alternative diagnostic procedure is skin biopsy. The type IV collagen alpha-5 chain is normally present in the skin. In most men with the X-linked form of Alport Syndrome the alpha-5 chain is completely missing from the skin.
How common is Alport syndrome?
Alport syndrome occurs in approximately 1 in 50,000 newborns.
How is Alport Syndrome treated?
Currently there is no specific treatment for Alport Syndrome. The same treatments that are used in people with high blood pressure and other symptoms of kidney disease are used in people with Alport Syndrome. Kidney transplantation is usually very successful in people with Alport Syndrome, and is the best treatment when end-stage kidney failure is approaching.

Medical researchers are very interested in understanding why people with Alport Syndrome develop kidney failure, and in developing treatments that can slow or prevent the development of kidney failure. Several treatment approaches are being tested in animals with Alport Syndrome. Nowadays, with the development of modern medical technology, the traditional Chinese Medicine, Natural Immune Balance Treatment, Cells Treatment and other methods are proved useful for Alport Syndrome.

How Long It Takes From Kidney Failure to End Stage Kidney Disease

How Long It Takes From Kidney Failure to End Stage Kidney Disease
This differs between people and depends partly on the cause of your chronic kidney disease. It also partly depends on how well you take care of yourself and how soon you get treatment.
It's difficult to predict how quickly chronic kidney disease can progress as different causes may mean it develops at different rates. Not everyone with chronic kidney disease will get worse.
If you have certain conditions, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes, you should try to control these as well as possible because they can make kidney disease worse. Other factors that are linked to worsening of chronic kidney disease are smoking and being African-Caribbean.
Making sure you get treatment as soon as possible and that it meets your needs is crucial. Your doctor will be able to provide guidance to help you limit the progression of chronic kidney disease.

Eating a healthy, balanced diet, keeping physically active, only drinking alcohol within the recommended daily limits and stopping smoking will all help you stay as well as possible. Taking any medicines as prescribed is also essential.
If you want the personal answer of how long it takes from kidney failure to end stage kidney disease, you can email to kidneyask@hotmail.com for a reply. It is better for me to give you detailed suggestions, if you can send your age, gender, creatinine level, GFR and family disease history.

Any Suggested Treatment for PKD

PKD is characterized by the presence of multiple cysts (hence, "polycystic") typically in both kidneys; however 17% of cases initially present with observable disease in one kidney, with most cases progressing to bilateral disease in adulthood. The cysts are numerous and are fluid-filled, resulting in massive enlargement of the kidneys. The disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and, in some rare cases, the heart and brain. The two major forms of polycystic kidney disease are distinguished by their patterns of inheritance.
For Personal answer about PKD treatment, please email to kidneyask@hotmail.com. It is better, if you can send your basic info and medical condition at the first email.
Polycystic kidney disease is one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases, affecting an estimated 12.5 million people worldwide.
PKD is a hereditary disease, which means many cysts on the kidneys. With age become old, the kidney cysts will become bigger, and then press the kidney tissues and damage the kidney function. At that time, patients will present the symptoms like foam in urine, hematuria, dizziness, swelling, backpain, fatigue etc. With the kidney cysts become big enough, the patients will secrete the cystic liquid which is very easy to get infection in the kidneys. The final result of PKD is kidney failure.
With the development of modern Chinese Medicine, there is a good treatment for PKD: Natural Immune Balance Treatment. There are mainly four functions:
1. To improve kidney function: medicine of activating blood circulation and eliminating stasis can improve the renal blood circulation, relieve hypercoagulable state, promote the absorption of fibrous tissue and may recover some of obsolete nephrons at different levels; and TCM of Cordyceps Sinensis can really improve the kidney function, and has been used to the treatment of Renal Insufficiency and even Uremia.
2. To regulate immunity: all tonics, blood-activating drugs and heat-clearing and detoxicating drugs in Chinese medicine can increase the phagocytic function of reticuloendothelial system. Some of the Chinese medicine has the bidirectional regulating function in immunity. Chinese antirheumatic medicine has the anti-allergic function; especially the Common threewingnut root has a good efficacy for Glomerulonephritis. According to the research, this drug can restrain the forming of immune complexes, and relieve the inflammation of glomerular.
3. To excrete metabolic waste: For example, Rheum can accelerate the excretion of urea nitrogen and serum creatine, and then relieve azotemia.

4. Diuresis : Traditional Chinese medicine has a good diuretic function. Such as: Grifola, Poria cocos, Rhizoma Alismatis, Plantain, Lysimachia, Chinese Lobelia and so on used together with some mild kidney medicine may have a good effect in promoting Diuresis. Research suggested that mild kidney medicine may improve kidney’s blood flow, and increase glomerular filtration rate. And water-disinhibiting medicine can reduce the reabsorption of kidney tubules. So these two kinds of medicine used together can promote diuresis.

Treatment for Kidney Disease in China

Your kidneys perform many functions to keep your blood chemically balanced and free of metabolic waste products. Numerous problems can manifest in your kidneys that cause your kidneys to fail, including diabetic kidney disease, prolonged elevated blood pressure, glomerular diseases, inherited and congenital kidney diseases, poisoning, direct trauma and certain pharmaceutical substances. Some of the most common signs and symptoms associated with kidney problems include changes in urination, fatigue, loss of appetite, swelling throughout your body and muscle cramps.
As many as 90,000 Americans develop Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) every year and 20 million Americans currently have CKD. One of the primary complications of CRF is heart disease, which is caused by elevated lipidemia and hypertension. Diet and exercise may help decrease the likelihood of disease progression, however, currently there is no cure. Eventually, dialysis and kidney transplants may be required. It is different in China for there are many treatments for different stages of kidney disease. If patients take treatments

Chinese Doctors instructed you not to use the herbal species which contain artistolochic acid, such as Guang Fang xi, Ma Dou;ing, and Guan Mutong, that are associated with severe kidney damage. But goldenrod tea, juniper berries, stinging nettle, parsley, red clover, watermelon seed tea are all good for kidney disease. It is better for you to find a Chinese clinic or kidney disease hospital so that you can get the professional treatments.

Prevention for Diabetes Complications: Foot Damage, Eye Damage, Kidney Damage and Skin Damage

In the past, Diabetes will cause death in the end. Nowadays, thanks to advanced medical technology, we can use medications or some Insulin to control Diabetes. However, Diabetes can be controlled, but the complications of Diabetes still is the No.1 to cause death.
If you have diabetes, your blood sugar levels are too high. Over time, this can cause problems with other body functions, such as your kidneys, nerves, feet, and eyes. Having diabetes can also put you at a higher risk for heart disease and bone and joint disorders. Other long-term complications of diabetes include skin problems, digestive problems, sexual dysfunction, and problems with your teeth and gums.If you have failed to find the info you need, please send your questions to kidneyask@hotmail.com to get a personal answer!
Very high or very low blood sugar levels can also lead to emergencies in people with diabetes. The cause can be an underlying infection, certain medicines, or even the medicines you take to control your diabetes. If you feel nauseated, sluggish or shaky, seek emergency care.
The role of the patient is essential in making a Diabetes management plan succeed.
Diabetes management consists of:
1. Following a diet plan
2. Testing blood sugar
3. Exercising
4. Taking any prescribed medication on time
5. Ensuring good hygiene
6. Learning about Diabetes

3 Suggested Chronic Allograft Nephropathy Treatments

Chronic Allograft Nephropathy is a Kidney Disease which happens after Kidney Transplant. Here are the overview of current treatments for this disease.
1. Relative Treatments.
Doctors usually suggest patients to receive treatments on their symptoms, such as the medicines for high blood pressure, heart disease and so on.
2. Natural-Immune-Balance Treatment.
It is a combination of traditional Chinese treatments and western treatments. The treatment is natural, so it will not bring side effects to patients.
3. Dialysis and Kidney Transplant.

Once kidney failure occurs, patients have to start dialysis or prepare for kidney transplant to further their life. Many patients start dialysis or kidney transplant once they step to kidney failure, actually, many patients still have chance to avoid dialysis and kidney transplant at that moment. Dialysis and kidney transplant are the last two treatments only for these whose two kidneys have been totally damaged and with no urine for a very long time (usually more than 2 years). For more info, you are suggested to email to kidneyask@hotmail.com

Diabetic Nephropathy Stages

I stage when diagnosing T1DM, the GFR and thickness have increased. The increases of glomerular and kidneys is the typical manifesto. Patients have transient microalbuminuria, after using insulin, it will disappear. The high GFR can lower after treatment, but cannot return to normal. If T1DM occurs before adolescence, this stage will last for a long time.
Ⅱstage, in this stage, kidneys damage has occurred, but no clinical symptoms. This stage appears after 2 years for DM onset. Some patients will last for many years in this stage, even for life time. The thickness of Glomerular basement membrane often increases, and mesangial area will proliferate. When the DM is not controlled well and taking exercise, patients will occur to microalbuminuria, but it’s reversible. The GFR still increase, and pressure is normal.
Ⅲ Stage. This stage is the high-risk period of DN. The typical patients are after 10-15 years’ Diabetic Mellitus. Microalbuminuria continuously increases and GFR still increase. Blood pressure begins to rise. It’s indicated in the longitudinal study that anti-hypertensive treatment can obviously improve microalbuminuria. Using insulin pump or intensive treatment in this stage can be conducted after blood sugar being improved obviously; the output of urinary albumin reduces or remains unchanged. Learn About: Why do I Sweat a Lot with Stage 4 Kidney Failure
Ⅳ stage. Patients entering this stage often have 15-25 years’courses. About 40% patients with T1DM will develop into this stage. There will be typical changes in pathology. The diagnosis is mainly relied on clinical manifestos. The output of urinary protein will increase (more than 0.5/ 24h). Most patients will have high blood pressure. The GFR begins to drop. The effective anti-hypertensive treatments can slower the rate of GFR dropping.
Ⅴ stage. This stage is terminal kidney failure. The characteristic is the glomerular capillary blockage, accompanied glomerular hyaline variety. The GFR has been enough low; with nitrogen retention and obvious hypertension.

Not all patients with T1DM will pass the above five stages. Most of patients will stop at the second stage, after 20-30 years, they still have no obvious kidney damage. But if patients develop into the third stage (Microalbuminuria stage), it’s possible to develop into the fourth stage, appearing typical DN. For the treatment, it should attempt to make the disease stop at the third stage. Once developing into fourth stage, the disease will be irreversible, and most patients will enter into the terminal Renal Failure. If you fail to find the info you want, you can email to kidneyask@hotmail.com for a reply.

Symptoms of CKD Stage 4

Knowing the symptoms of CKD stage 4 is important to make a diagnosis and a proper management.
CKD Stage4
Stage 4 chronic kidney disease is characterized by severe reduction in kidney function. If your average glomerular filtration rate is at 15-30 ml/minute, then you’re classified as a stage 4 patient. It may not sound much, but it means your kidneys are working at least 70% less efficiently. This leads to all kinds of complications, including kidney and even multiple organ failure. Some herbs help alleviate the symptoms of CKD naturally. If you have interested, you can leave a message to kidneyask@hotmail.com. It’s better, if you can send your age, name, gender and kidney functions.
CKD Stage 4 Symptoms
These are symptoms that are considered to be strong indications of the presence of stage 4 CKD. Edema, commonly known as the retention of fluid in different parts of the body, is observed in this stage, mainly because there are already serious issues with regards to fluid regulation. Abnormal urination is also observed in this disease. Urine is usually found in different shades of brown.
It can even have red spots because of the inclusion of blood in the urine. A breath that has the scent of urea is also telling evidence. This is because those with advanced kidney problems have increased urea content in the body.
CKD Stage4 ≠Death Sentence

Dealing with chronic kidney disease is surely a complicated task. But with the right course of treatment, one can survive it. It’s relieving to know that there are different ways to increase stage 4 kidney disease life expectancy. Micro-Chinese Herbal Medicine helps repair damaged kidney tissues and improve kidney functions, which has already helps many CKD patients to avoid Dialysis. Any help? Email to kidneyask@hotmail.com.

Is Polycystic Kidney Disease Serious

Polycystic Kidney Disease is an autosomal dominant disease which runs in family. Is Polycystic Kidney Disease Serious? This question has been asked for thousands times from PKD families.

It is hard to give a general “yes” or “no” to this question. But here are some facts which may give you an understanding about “how serious the Polycystic Kidney Disease is?”

PKD is an autosomal dominant disease, meaning if just one parent has a gene mutation for it, there's a 50% chance of passing it on to a child. There's also a recessive form of the disease that is relatively rare. If both parents are affected, the chance of their child will be 75%.

As the kidney cysts enlarge in number and in size gradually, the nearby kidney tissues will be affected and infected. As a result, the kidneys function will decline and it may develop into Kidney failure eventually.

However, with the dominant form of the disease, kidney failure doesn't normally occur until patients are in their mid-50's and they have to go on dialysisor get a kidney transplant. Good news is that a new developed natural treatment named “Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy” helps shrink the kidney cyst naturally. There are about 120 videos of patients story about PKD treated by this natural remedy, if you have interest, you can leave a message to kidneyask@hotmail.com to get the patient story.

Healthy Diet for Diabetes and Kidney Disease

A healthy diet plan help people with diabetes and kidney disease mange blood glucose levels and reduce the amount of waste and fluid your kidneys process.
What can I eat?
Your dietitian knows the importance of variety and will give you options on the types of foods you can eat. Your diet will include a list of foods from different food groups to help you plan meals. Below is an example of food choices that are usually recommended on a typical renal diabetic diet. This list is an example only. It is based on sodium, potassium, phosphorus and high sugar content of foods included.
Your own individualized diet may include additional foods or limit some of these recommended foods. Your blood test results, stage of kidney disease, size, nutrition status and dietary goals help determine your exact diet therapy. Remember to always ask your dietitian whether or not you can have any of these listed foods and make sure you know what the recommended serving size should be. Do not make any changes to your diet without your dietitian’s approval.
Foods Which should be limited or avoided:
Candy (candy bars, hard candy, chocolate, jelly beans, gum drops)
Regular sugar
Syrup (maple, chocolate)
Honey
Molasses
Pies, cakes, cookies, donuts
Ice cream
Canned foods
BBQ sauce, ketchup
Onion, garlic or table salt
TV dinners
Meat tenderizer
Marinades
Nuts

What Causes Multiple Cyst form on My Children With PKD

No one knows exactly how and why multiple cysts form on the kidneys in polycystic kidney disease (PKD).
Genetics certainly seems to play a part, but if your niece's family has no history of the condition, it is still possible that the genetic change involved could have happened in your niece of its own accord.
PKD can occur in both adults and children. It's more common in adults and often doesn't become apparent until later life.
The cysts gradually enlarge and can go on to interfere with kidney function. This in turn can lead to hypertension (high blood pressure), anaemia, and an increased likelihood of infections and kidney stones.
No treatment can prevent the cysts from forming or enlarging. Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy is suggested for it helps shrink kidney cyst naturally, which shows no side effects in child, due to its natural functions.
The disease is usually slowly progressive, eventually causing kidney failure. Childhood PKD tends to progress more rapidly and is therefore usually associated with a worse prognosis than that presenting in adulthood.
I am afraid I am unable to comment as to how this affects your niece specifically.
Management of the condition is aimed at the reduction of symptoms and prevention of complications.
A low-salt diet is often recommended in the management kidney disease, and the dietetics department and nephrology unit at your local hospital will be able to advise.
Surgical drainage of a cyst may be required if it is causing a problem with urination or repeated infections.
Surgical removal of one or both kidneys may be required and depending upon progress, treatment of PKD may include kidney dialysis or kidney transplantation.
Sharing experiences and problems by joining a support group can often help to relieve the stress of illness. British Kidney Patient Association aims to help finance patients in need of vital surgery, and increase public awareness of the need for kidney donors.

The association also supplies information about transplantation and dialysis procedures.

How to Live with CKD Caused by Diabetes in Children

Diabetes causes kidneys damaged, which is known as Diabetic Nephropathy. How to live with CKD caused by Diabetes in Children?
How Do Kidneys Become Damaged?
When glucose circulates in the blood, it binds to proteins, making the proteins "sticky." As these sticky molecules pass through the smaller blood vessels, they can stick to the vessel walls, causing inflammation, leaking and collapsing. When this happens in the kidneys, the tiny nephrons become damaged and the kidneys lose the ability to filter toxins out of the blood.
How Is Kidney Disease Diagnosed?
CKD in Children can sometimes be a "silent" condition, where there are no obvious symptoms until the disease is quite progressed. Doctors recommend screening for kidney function if you have diabetes. There are screening tests that can help detect kidney disease.
High blood pressure can be an indicator of kidney disease.
A simple dipstick urinalysis can show if there is blood or excess protein in your urine
A separate urine test for the presence of "microalbumin," a type of protein found that is not normally found in the kidneys unless there is damage present.
A blood test for creatinine levels. A rising creatinine level indicates the degree of kidney failure.
The glomerular filtration rate (GFR) can show how much of the toxins are actually being filtered by your kidneys.
How Is CKD in Children Managed?
Chronic renal disease is not reversible, but there are things you can do to slow the progression of the disease.
Maintain tight glucose control.
Take blood pressure medication. Two classes of blood pressure medications called ACE inhibitors and ARBs slow the progress of renal disease most effectively. Note: Even patients without high blood pressure can benefit from these drugs when taken during the early stages of kidney damage.
Eat a low protein renal diet - eating less protein reduces the stress on damaged kidneys.
